Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Tarot?
The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards. The symbols, imagery and concepts found in the Tarot go back thousands of years. It includes ancient cultures, world religions, astrology, numerology and mythology.
Today, the Tarot is used a powerful instrument of introspection, for you to reflect on your present situation, to see aspects of current circumstances that you may not have considered before, and to offer alternative pathways and possibilities.
What can the Tarot do for me?
The Tarot is empowering and life-affirming. Are you trying to get un-stuck in a tricky situation? What’s really bothering you about that relationship? Searching for harmony? Feeling blah and looking for inspiration? Are you at Life’s crossroads where all the options seem equally good (or equally bad), and you just can’t decide?
You can address all these issues (and more) with the Tarot -
get a sense of your life at the present
process past experiences
getting to the root and heart of the matter
However, what the Tarot can’t do is to predict births, deaths, lottery numbers or to find your lost cat. On a more serious note, the Tarot is not a substitute for legal, financial or medical advice.
How can I best prepare for a Tarot reading?
Come with an open and curious mind, leave the skepticism behind. Please don’t approach the Tarot to ‘challenge’ it or to prove it ‘wrong’.
Do regard the Tarot as a friend who has your best interests at heart, to listen to you as it gently clarifies what’s bothering you and offers a different perspective. (You’re not in the habit of of provoking or proving your friends wrong, yeah?)
It’s OK to feel nervous or anxious before a Tarot reading. After all, we don’t have all the answers, which is why we’re seeking the Tarot’s wisdom.
What questions can I ask of the Tarot?
The Tarot is an excellent instrument to tap into your intuition and to empower instincts, that when using logic alone will restrict or limit.
Relationships, career development, workplace dynamics, family matters, dealing with disappointments, life goals and directions for your hopes and dreams are all questions that you can ask of the Tarot.
